A few weeks back Microsoft provided a sneak peak of the Office 2010 suite and, more importantly, SharePoint 2010. Some of you may be salivating over some of the functionality presented in the SharePoint 2010 sneak peak. So why wait until SharePoint 2010 is released to get the new functionality when your MOSS 2007 implementation can have some of it now?
To keep you in suspense a tad bit longer, here is a recap of some of the functionality presented to us in the sneak peak:
- Silverlight WebPart
- Business Connectivity Services
- LINQ for SharePoint
- Rich Media Support
- Usage Reporting and Logging
- Best Practices Analyser
- Large List Resource Throttling
- Visual Studio 2010 SharePoint Tools
Microsoft have incorporated certain functionality in SharePoint 2010 that may look new to some, but to the trained eye, are available to everyone – you just have to know where to look. Below you can find my list of the alternative resources and links to their location. Most resources are free (developed by the CodePlex community or by the kind people at Microsoft).
If you know of any more that I have missed please let me know and I will add it to the list. I will aspire to maintain this list as more information comes to light on the new functionality in SharePoint 2010. Enjoy!
